  1. I was cautiously optimistic…then I completely forgot it was in the works.

  2. 250 mil to aquire the rights, something like 500 mil for promotion and budget of the first few episodes, rights to 5 seasons with 1 in production and the second green lit, 20 episodes per season, and the GoT wound is still fresh, they know they cant mess this up

  3. The fact that Tolkien estate is working in the production is good news, unlike some other IPs where companies buy rights and do whatever the fck they want. Plus THANK GOD they are not remaking already “famous” stuff. A lot of people do not know much about the second age, and even if mediocre compared to original text, it would at least be new.

  4. all you have to do to not be excited about it is to see some of the casting they’ve brought in

  5. I’m concerned that they’ll make a show that’s pretty good, but one that’s just doesn’t have the feeling of LOTR or other works by Tolkien.
    (Kinda how I feel Star Trek Picard’s turned out)
