  1. The US: how did New Zealand get rid of the COVID-19?

New Zealand: Well, we are a small country with about 1.46% the population of the US (about the population of Alabama 4.8 million). Every year we get about 3.5ish million visitors, the US gets about 79 million. The best part is that we are an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. When we noticed that nearly all of our cases were from people coming to New Zealand (about 28 cases total) we just cut off all travel to the island if you weren’t a resident or a citizen.

The US: okay we can’t do that.

  2. I imagine having a relatively population on an island helped too. It’s a LOT harder to coordinate consensus on an action with large populations. China’s authoritarian government and culture is what allowed them to do it.

  3. yep this meme is catering to a loud audience within an audience.
