  1. *The world has changed…*
*I feel it in the water…*
*I feel it in the air…*

  2. Doesn’t really matter what they do. Both the books and the movies will always be amazing and nothing can ever take that away.

I’ll give it a fair chance and watch and if it sucks, I’ll just go back to my LotR marathons like nothing happened.

  3. When the goal is to make a product rather than make a good film this is what happens

  4. I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo. “So do I,” said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

  5. I mean, if it’s bad we can always forget about it and pretend it never existed.

  6. Harry Potter too. Though they’ve had help with that one.

  7. I thought the new Star Trek movies were well-liked? I enjoyed them at least, definitely doesn’t seem right to compare them to the new SW movies that reeked of cash-grab.

And with the amount of lore in Tolkien’s legendarium, why not give more video adaptations a chance? (or is the series meant to keep adding onto the actual LOTR story somehow?)

  8. At least we’ll be getting remastered versions of the OG’s though y’all, no matter what we got those coming ! I’m not really hoping for much, but those remasters, and in 4k, I’m hyped about lmao

  9. Ah yes, Star Wars, the famously dead franchise that has a new season of a wildly popular tv show in less than a month, and Star Trek, which currently has five shows streaming or in the works.

    Such dead franchises!

  10. I’m a bit out the loop about this series apart from the fact I know it’s amazon’s biggest budget project. Is there some recent info about it that I’ve not heard that doesn’t sound good?

  11. I fear they’ll force some absolute bullshit into it instead of just doing the story as it was

  12. Add Avatar: The Last Airbender to that list. Fans fear the upcoming Netflix Adaption

  13. I said in another thread, I’ll say it here-

In the world of intimacy choreography, nudity refers to any wardrobe choice where the actor is wearing less clothing than they normally would wear to work- if they were shooting an episode of a show where all the characters go to the pool and wear swimsuits, an intimacy choreographer would call it a scene involving partial nudity. That very well could have been what the call was referring to, and it’s being blown up by the media and folks misunderstanding it.

I work in the industry, It is NOT remarkable to me that they are hiring an intimacy choreographer, or that they have put the possibility of nudity out there.

If anyone has questions on intimacy work, since the subreddit seems to be really panicked about this, feel free to ask and I can clarify as best I can.

  14. Wow. Last time I saw this template, I still had hope for the world.

  15. For Harry Potter, jkr didn’t wait for a corporation, she just did it herself

  16. Can someone please tell me how any of these franchises can get “killed”? Without big companies picking these franchises up the only other option is no new content at all. So if you don’t like the new content, why don’t just stick with the old stuff?
